The 2500 modules made by Mos-Lab are made commercially, not the patch matrix that I made for my personal use. So there's no the price defined for this matrix that its not for sale. It did cost the price of the PCBs, all the prototypes I did, the different elements that I bought and tried to find the best solution, before adopting this or that (2mm banana for pins for instance; distance between boards etc) and it will cost more when I decide to make alu front panels to replace the PCB front panels. Not counting all the hours dedicated to this project.

The modules have headers to connect to dedicated ins/outs. I plug directly my matrix to these headers. You see on top and bottom of the modules (similar to the original 2500) a few lines with arrows pointing to the module (inputs) or out of the module (outputs). These are the ins or outs that connect to the matrix via connections headers. One at the top and one at the bottom of each module.

About the horizontal Serge module: the 1027 sequencer has no ins/outs on top of the module. So I thought I'd use the empty space that does not need a patch matrix for this part. I did a panel that allows to adapt Serge, Buchla or BugBrand modules that I can plug and play. Just an idea to be able to add more functions. I'm currently doing a few more adaptations and waiting for PCBs to arrive.

A couple of friends told me that they've had issues in the past like this with other gear on different rack frames, but it was a first for me.

@@batchas I've never heard of this before - and I have hundreds of rack units and 40 years experience. I'm deffo gonna check from now on tho!

I never had any issue earlier with rack gear. I did use in the past different racks, smaller than this tall Millenium one. Anyway, I was really disappointed when trying to mount the Bento I just received. I spent the afternoon with Dremell, belt sander and metal files! I had to reach the limit of the metal strip but now it fits. Let's hope I won't have to move it to another position!!!

@@batchas Unfortunately I've had this happen a few times. If you're going to build any 500 series modules I can highly recommend the JLM modules from Australia. I've had two of his neve type preamps and a pair of each of the compressors (all JLM build) for fifteen years and they sound great.

@@RichardQuirkmusic Thx for the tip. I sent them a message to know if and when their Opto Compressor Kit will be available again. Currently I finished to build an EQ, the MP573 Microphone preamplifier (Neve 1290/1073) from Soundskulptor. Waiting for PCBs to be able to calibrate outside of the 500 box. PCBs that will btw arrive with the Superfuzzy boards hehe.

It would not exist without you and the open source files for this project that you shared. It did allow me a couple of years later to make a MK2 version. I didn't earn money with this project, but I learned a lot and this is priceless.

Indeed a proto. I did forget about this until I found the videos on my yt channel! I'll see if I explore further in 2025. Can't say now. But I enjoyed too its effect. Can be very powerful on certain frequencies.

@@batchas I'd definitely be interested; I love new flavours of distortion. My favourite is still a pair of Telefunken Echomixers each modified to run in series. Mental 60's germanium mayhem.

@@RichardQuirkmusic Telefunken Echomixers = COOL!!! I'm making new PCB with corrections and panels. Including 2 outputs instead of a switch. I'll let you know when all is ready.

I'm also adding a circuit extension which allows to select between different sets of germanium diodes, for different fuzz flavors.
